Ethical Outreach Guidelines
Our Ethical Framework
LeadClaw is built on the principle that AI outreach should make business communication better, not worse. Every feature is designed to be helpful, honest, and respectful.
The 7 Ethical Principles
1. Transparency
Your agent always identifies itself honestly. Emails come from "[Your Name], Assistant for [Business Name]" — never pretending to be the business owner or hiding the AI involvement. Recipients know they're interacting with an assistant.
2. Consent & Respect
- Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link
- Unsubscribe requests are honored immediately and permanently
- Leads who express disinterest are never contacted again
- Your agent respects "do not contact" signals in all forms
3. Honest Representation
Your agent will never:
- Make false claims about your business
- Fabricate case studies, testimonials, or statistics
- Impersonate the business owner
- Claim a personal relationship that doesn't exist
- Use deceptive subject lines
4. Data Ethics
- Only publicly available business information is used for lead generation
- We never scrape behind login walls or buy email lists
- All lead data belongs to you and can be exported or deleted anytime
- We don't sell or share your data with third parties
5. Volume Restraint
- Maximum 5-150 emails per day depending on your plan — not thousands
- Gradual warmup protects recipient inboxes
- 1 follow-up maximum — we don't spam
- Campaigns auto-pause at quality thresholds
6. Quality Over Quantity
Every email is individually crafted, not mass-blasted from a template. Your agent researches each lead and writes a unique, relevant message. This respects the recipient's time and attention.
7. Compliance as a Feature
CAN-SPAM, GDPR, and email authentication (SPF/DKIM/DMARC) aren't afterthoughts — they're core features. Your agent enforces compliance automatically, protecting both you and your recipients.
Why This Matters
Ethical outreach isn't just the right thing to do — it produces better results:
- Higher reply rates (relevant > spammy)
- Better sender reputation (lower complaints)
- Sustainable growth (no burned bridges)
- Legal protection (full compliance)
Your Responsibilities
While LeadClaw handles compliance automatically, you should:
- Set accurate, honest campaign goals
- Keep your business profile truthful and up-to-date
- Respond to hot leads promptly and professionally
- Report any outreach that doesn't meet your standards
